Vietnam kept its second place in the medal tally on December 17, the ninth day of the 25th Sea Games. Vietnam gained 20 gold medals which contributed to the total possession of 81, following Thailand with 84 gold medals.
In the Pencak Silat martial, Vietnam gained six gold medals in two categories of 45-65 kg and 55-75 kg for women and men respectively. In the Wushu and free wresting competitions, Vietnam bagged five and gold medals in turns.
